Core rules

• Nudity and sexual content: do not post or send nudity, pornography, sexual activity, sexualized content, sexual services, or unwanted sexual behavior. This rule applies even when the people shown are adults and claim consent.
• Child safety: never sexualize, groom, entice, solicit, exploit, sextort, traffic, or endanger a minor. Child sexual abuse material, attempts to obtain it, and sexual conversations or conduct directed at minors are prohibited.
• Intimate-image abuse: do not share or threaten non-consensual intimate imagery, including altered, synthetic, or deepfake sexual content.
• Harassment and privacy: do not threaten, bully, stalk, shame, intimidate, impersonate, dox, expose private information, or coordinate abuse.
• Hate and violence: do not promote hateful dehumanization, credible violence, terrorism, violent extremism, extremist recruitment, or dangerous challenges.
• Self-harm and eating disorders: do not encourage, instruct, glorify, or facilitate suicide, self-injury, or disordered eating. Supportive recovery discussion and help-seeking are allowed.
• Fraud and security: do not scam, spam, distribute malware, steal credentials, compromise accounts, solicit verification codes, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Illegal and regulated activity: do not facilitate illegal drugs, weapons, human trafficking, or unlawful sales of regulated goods.
• Rights and consent: share only content you own or are allowed to share. Do not violate another person's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
• Integrity: do not maliciously submit a knowingly false report, fabricate evidence, evade blocks or enforcement, or help someone bypass eligibility, connection, privacy, or security controls. Good-faith reports are protected even when no violation is found.

Private does not mean consequence-free

SYR is designed around accepted connections, but recipients can still capture, report, or misuse content. Share thoughtfully. A connection does not create consent to redistribute a photo, pressure someone for content, or bypass a later block.

Blocking overrides connection, messaging, discovery, invite, and ordinary visibility paths supported by the product. A blocked person must not return through another account or ask someone else to bypass the block. Blocking cannot erase a copy already captured outside SYR, remove content from a recipient's device or lawful records, or replace an emergency report.

Safety checks and review

SYR may check submitted text and a reduced-size copy of an image through an outside safety service, including content meant for a private photo chat. A check may allow content, send it for restricted review, or block it before it is posted or sent. A small group of authorized reviewers may inspect limited case evidence. This process does not make private content public.

Safety checks and people can make mistakes. They can miss violations or flag content that is allowed, and a flag alone does not prove someone broke the rules. Ordinary swimwear, consensual adult flirting, or profanity alone is not treated as a severe violation without another safety concern or relevant context. These checks do not determine a person's age or find every child-safety violation. Use report and block whenever you need them.

Report and block

1. Use the in-app report control on the relevant profile, photo, comment, or message when it is safe to do so.
2. Block the account if you want to stop further interaction.
3. If the in-app report action is not available to you, use the public Safety report.
4. For intimate-image abuse, follow the focused steps on Take It Down help. Do not send intimate media through the public form or email.
5. For copyright or another intellectual-property concern, use Copyright & DMCA. Submit a locator and text, never a media attachment.

A report asks SYR to review a concern. A block changes contact and visibility between the accounts. Reporting does not automatically block the account, and blocking does not automatically send a report.

Review and enforcement

Depending on the facts, SYR may educate or warn someone, remove content, limit features or visibility, restrict connections, temporarily suspend or permanently disable an account, preserve evidence, or make a legally required report. SYR may take immediate action for severe, credible, or urgent harm.

Repeat violations, coordinated abuse, retaliation, block evasion, or a pattern across accounts may escalate the response. In appropriate circumstances, SYR terminates repeat infringers after reviewing supported findings and relevant context; complaint count alone is not a finding. Creating or using another account after enforcement is itself a violation.

We cannot promise a particular outcome or instant removal. A severe safety report is routed for priority review, but public forms and email are not monitored as emergency channels.

Appeals and report integrity

If a post is blocked before publication, open Content wasn't published in the app and choose Request review. That sends a same-case appeal without resubmitting the content. If you cannot reach the in-app control, use Support with the case reference and a short explanation, but do not resend the content. An appeal is a review request, not a promise that an action will be reversed. Do not retaliate against a reporter or submit repeated duplicate appeals.

Knowingly malicious false reports can lead to enforcement. A report made honestly and with a reasonable safety concern does not violate this rule merely because the review does not confirm a violation.

Age and minor user safety

Eligibility depends on where someone primarily lives. Anyone under 13 is ineligible, and Nebraska and Tennessee currently require users to be at least 18. Minor users in the adopted Ohio and Mississippi cohorts need a parent or legal guardian to complete the parent-consent flow, but the minor user's separate assent is still required; SYR does not offer nationwide parent consent. Adults in Mississippi and Tennessee need Persona's 18-or-older check. Texas users ages 13–17 must complete the official Apple or Google age route for the store where SYR was installed. There is no parent or support shortcut for someone who does not meet the rules. See the full age and state details.

Do not try to determine or expose another user's age from product behavior. Report a concern through the eligibility form without sending a full birth date or identity document.
